The Kabbalistic Order of the Rose+Cross was founded in Paris around the year 1888. The Marquis Stanislas de Guaita was the first Grand Master. This mysterious Order is one of the rare Orders of that time which succeeded in preserving the secrets of its Initiatic rituals. Its members honoured its traditional structure, and the serious importance of its formation. This attitude of respect enabled the Kabbalistic Order of the Rose+Cross to survive across the centuries to our modern era without corruption. KORC is a balanced heritage which includes aspects of the philosophies of Martinism, the Rose+Cross, Kabbalah and Hermetism. It is an international structure, representing individuals from all over the world. The KORC is not just a philosophical or symbolic school. From its inception, its primary aim has been to teach and initiate Beings of Desire: men and women who have a fervent desire to progress along the path of the Great Work. According to the desires of Saint Martin, our Order begins the process of working with new members with the Martinistic reception of “Supérieur Inconnu” (S:. I:. refers to the Invisible Superior). This ritual’s purpose is the opening of the human heart to Divine Forces, and it represents a genuine moral engagement, without which any Initiatic endeavour would inevitably be doomed to failure, since the heart would still be primarily driven by human passions rather than by its receptivity to the Divine. Thus, it is only after the ritual of the S.I. forms an authentic foundation that we can then begin the process of delving deeper into the mysteries of the Western Tradition. This is what the process of the Order was in ancient times and what it is today.
